No alcohol involved but a very very stormy night – one broken guy rope and Martin hauling more rocks to secure the tent in the middle of the night. Can you believe that it was still blowing next morning!?
A camp fire in the mountains. The wood is incredibly dry hence burns incredibly fast.
Using huge rocks, bikes, trailers, buckets and bottles filled with sand to hold down the guy ropes – even in this sheltered hollow the sand is still blowing – this sand isn’t like the beach stuff but instead a very fine dust that gets into absolutely everything.
The tent had to be double pegged in such wind – someone thought that it was rather funny.
After a good run of sunshine, the Oregon Mist finally caught us: rain at night, mist/rain in the morning but dry for the rest of the day for riding. So it’s breakfast inside the tent.
